Shiro from Slowly Why you commemorate Alamo? :( As a historian I must protest against it as it is pretty immoral as it promotes historical bullshit and doesn't deserve commemoration. The U.S. invaded Mexico just like Russia invaded Ukraine. Commemorating victims of Alamo is as injust as commemorating Russian victims of Ukrainian counter-attacks against Russia. Or like commemorating Nazi German soldiers killed by Polish soldiers during WWII. Commemoration of such historical events should be historically justified. And there's no justification for such brutal invasions. PS Especially when official American narration is that Mexicans were so brutal savages. Well, they only defended their home country attacked with no provocation by the Americas only seeking a justification for claiming lands rich in natural resources like silver, gold, oil and gas. This way they stole in the end a bit more than half of Mexico! And this is how they became a rich economy and in time also a superpower. Instead of the Americans you should rather commemorate all their victims, including North American natives!!! And if you want to be politically neutral - to satisfy everybody - simply don't issue stamps like this. First learn more history to understand the implications of issuing such a stamp...
