Haetae/Haechi(해태/해치) is a legendary creature in East Asia. It is called "Xiezhi" in Chinese and "Kaichi" in Japanese. Each one has slightly different traits. Haetae can distinguish right from wrong and good from evil. It eats evil people such as corrupt officials. Therefore, it symbolizes justice. It is also known to be able to prevent disasters such as fire. It seems like a sheep or a lioness. Haetae is also used as a symbol of Seoul, the capital city of Korea.
