[South Africa] The Sowetan towers
WeetieJean
I really don't like that we're represented by the Boabab tree as the official South African stamp when most other countries have architecture... and I've probably seen a baobab once and I live here... Table mountain or the Nelson mandela bridge or the Sowetan towers would all be better choices for our official stamp. Proteas are our national flower so that would be better also. If it has to be a tree then the acacia tree is also are a lot more common. Jacarandas are very familiar to us as well. A stamp for Nelson Mandela Day (18th July) would be really cool also, and Youth Day (16th June), these are probably our most important holidays of the year. Don't get me wrong, I love the Hermanus whale day but I think the other two are more significant to South African culture.

I agree that stamps of Table Mountain, The Amphitheater in the Drakensberg and/or the Blyde River Canyon would have made more sense than the baobab stamp (I also wouldn't automatically associate a baobab with South Africa).
And I've been keeping my fingers crossed for a single premium stamp of a king protea for several years already!
