Hi Slowly Team ! The barong is a huge part of Bali and Java, (realistically) probably the most well known parts of Indonesia by countries outside of Asia. However, Barong has also become a huge icon to the country.

The Barong is a creature believed to be the King of Spirits and leader of the hosts of good. The Barong's battle with his enemy, Rangda, is a representation of the battles between good and evil. With facial features similar to that of a lion, it's often portrayed to be red, black hair, and wearing a big, golden head piece. A traditional dance in Bali includes the presence of the Barong in a fight against Rangda to restore balance.

This short explanation doesn't do the Barong much justice, but it truly is quite a big icon of the country. I hope that the Barong can be considered to be a stamp. I think the stamp designs can capture the traditional essence of the Barong really well !
